  • SuperOne Season Finale at Shenington: Jude Puddefoot Seals P3 With a Clean Sweep

Rounds 11 and 12 of the SuperOne British Kart Championship brought the curtain down on the 2026 season at Shenington, and I could not have asked for a better way to finish it. Two days of racing, four sessions each day, and not one moment where I was headed by another kart. Pole, a win in Heat 1 and a win in Heat 2 on Saturday, then the same again on Sunday plus a win in the final. Eight for eight across the weekend.

It caps off my first season in Junior Rotax, the toughest junior grid I have raced on, and I finish the championship P3 overall. After a few tough weekends earlier in the year, that is a result I am genuinely proud of. You can see how the season built to this on the championship standings page.

    Saturday: Round 11

Qualifying set the tone. Pole position gave me first choice of line into Turn 1, and I made it count in both heats, converting the front row into two wins. The final followed the same pattern. Shenington rewards clean, consistent laps more than outright bravery, and the kart was exactly where I needed it all day.

    Sunday: Round 12

Sunday asked the same question again, and the answer did not change. Another pole, another two heat wins, and a final that never really felt in doubt. A clean sweep on the last weekend of the season is not something I expected to be writing about, but the whole package came together at the right time.

    The Team Behind It

None of this happens without the people around me. The X Kart team have been faultless all season, and Aurum Race Engines gave me the power to make the pace stick lap after lap. My family have been there for every early start and every debrief, on the good weekends and the harder ones, and I would not be finishing the championship P3 without them.

A season like this also runs on the support of DuckTape UK and Omnino Steakhouse Leadenhall, whose backing let us focus on the racing and nothing else. Thank you for believing in a first-season Junior Rotax campaign and sticking with it through to Shenington.

    What Next

Finishing P3 in my first year in this class tells me the pace is there to fight for the championship itself next season. The lessons from the rounds that did not go our way earlier in the year matter just as much as the clean sweep at Shenington. You take both into the next campaign.

For now, it is a weekend to enjoy. Two poles, six heat wins and two final wins from the last four races of the season, and a P3 finish in the toughest Junior Rotax field I have raced against. Full timing from the weekend is available through Alpha Timing, who ran official results across both rounds.

Thank you to everyone who followed along this season, whether trackside at Shenington or watching the timing screens from home. Full details on the class, the calendar and the wider SuperOne series are on the official SuperOne website. Round 1 of next season cannot come soon enough.

  • Whilton Mill: A Podium Weekend That Promised More

Whilton Mill: A Podium Weekend That Promised More

Rounds 9 and 10 of the SuperOne Championship took Jude Puddefoot to Whilton Mill for a weekend that produced more pace than the results show. Racing in Junior Rotax, Jude arrived in good form and left with another podium, though two separate incidents meant the outright win stayed just out of reach.

Round 9 began well, with Jude qualifying P5 and following up with P4 in Heat 1 before taking the win in Heat 2, setting up a strong grid position for the final. A good launch off the line saw him break clear of the pack alongside a rival driver, only for a red flag to erase the gap they had built. At the restart, contact from another driver sent Jude off the circuit and dropped him to P27, a frustrating end to a race he felt he had the pace to win.

Round 10 brought a stronger start, with Jude qualifying P2. He crossed the line first in Heat 1 after a well-judged move for the lead, but a five-place penalty for passing inside a yellow flag zone dropped him to P6. A solid Heat 2 followed, finishing P3. Starting the final from third, Jude made a good launch to move into P2 and was in contention for the win before catching a kerb with two laps to go, running wide and losing a place to finish P3.

The results did not fully reflect the pace on show at Whilton Mill, but the weekend still delivered another podium, valuable championship points, and a move into the top five of the SuperOne standings. With two rounds remaining in the season, Jude and the team head into the final stretch with confidence, focused on turning that pace into results when it matters most.
